Spray Paint Art

So throught the Chronicle, i met this kid named Brody. He is pretty cool and he is a Spray Paint Artist. We all know the other name for it, it starts with a "G" i just can't spell it, so i call it Spary Paint Artist! ha ha ha. Anyways, he is a 25 year old college drop out. He finished 3 years at the U, but then didn't go anymore. Don't know why, but that's what happened.

I think that Graffiti art is really cool. It takes alot to be able to control the spray can like that and to get desired results. He started doing graffiti art when he was 22 and has been doing it for a few years. He has even been contracted by big businesses to come and graffiti their walls he is that good. He has a huge mural in San Fransisco at one of the major business down there. Pretty cool kid. He has graffiti'd his whole house. He and his roommate i guess are "taggers" so they painted up their house!!

So somehow the school of Performing Arts got wind of this kid and decided to check out his stuff. He has a website called www.brodyism.com and they checked out his stuff and really liked it. They liked it so much that they hired him to spray paint wall in their building. it's freakin rad. I am surprised for 2 reasons, #1 that the school is branching out like that and moving away from the traditional paint jobs, and #2 that they are paying him to do it! it's pretty rad.

So needless to say, he's a pretty cool kid.

So, for those of you who have been reading my blog and reading the comments that have been posted by the lovely Kim Peterson and Megan Burr, here is the photo that Megan is favoring. This photo ran pretty big in the Chrony and I tend to agree with Megan, it has great leading lines and it's a pretty good photo of what's going on. I'll have to go down to the building where he painted it and see how it turned out. So watch the post and it may get longer!!

Jarad, I really liked the main photo used in the chrony for this one. great use of leading lines and an asymmetrical composition.

Which one ran in the Chrony? I really like that third photo. Good work with all of them lighting wise.
